We have 2 silkies, one is white and the other tan, they are both the same age but the tan one has no feathers on its face like the white one does! Is this normal for the color of silkie or is something wrong with the tan one? Thanks!

The white one just happens to be bearded and your buff isn't. It's normal, not all silkies are bearded
Oh ok, thanks so much! Does this mean that the tan one will not grow any more feathers on its head? Or will more come? It’s maybe 12-13 weeks old

Yes there are two types of silkies: bearded and non bearded. Bearded means the bird has a beard (under face fluff) and muffs (side face fluff).

The crest of the buff may fill out a little more, but she will not develop more feathers around her face. She appears to be a pullet by the way.
Thank you so much! We thought it might be a roo just because her clicks sound different from the other breeds and hens, again I can’t thank you enough!
