The barred bird looks more like a frizzled cochin than a sizzle as I do not see any silkie characteristics. It could be a 2nd or more generation offspring of a sizzle project that did not inherit sufficient silkie characteristics. The buff looks to have normal silkie feathering.

A frizzled silkie has silkie feathering that are frizzled. A sizzle has non-silkied feathers that are frizzled, but all OTHER features match the silkie standard.

Frizzling can occur in any breed.

Thanks for the help. Bought eggs from various suppliers, all advertised as silkies, so much for mailed eggs. I suppose I could find another home for him. Thanks again, Bob.

The comb looks all wrong for a pure cochin. I can see what looks like a bit of a crest and beard/muffs. Does it have extra toes? I would guess it is a first, or maybe second, generation project bird for frizzled silkies.
