Hmmm. It has a comb like a roo, but feathering points to pullet. Maybe wait a couple weeks, and see if it starts laying. It's possible that she just developed an extra large comb, and if ready to lay.
Thinking cockerel, but should be crowing, though Silkies often start late/slower to develop, my 5 month olds crow. So, a few weeks should tell for sure. Might help if you gave us a close up of the comb frontal area with the crest (top knot) pulled back and away. Sometimes, you can see a tinge of mulberry color in the roosters comb, that isn't seen in the pullet, but you have to look close, it is often very discrete. But something to watch for a they age. He is really adorable!
I didn’t want to influence what people saw in the photos—but I’m fairly certain he was crowing this morning. We love this chicken so much. He’s very sweet. Unfortunately, we are true backyard chicken owners and live in a neighborhood. We are not permitted to have roosters. Giving him (?) some more time to be sure...but I’ll have to find him a home.
