I knew that my new White silkie was eggbound just recently and swollen exesively! Took her to the vet today and here what was done!

I thought I could feel at least 2 eggs!!!

When we got to the vets office he put her to sleep and went in he too could not find the egg passage!
He pulled me and my mom back to the back and said the only way to save her was an emergency C-section!!!! WHAT???

Me and mom talked it over and decided to go ahead with it. after the surgery he pulled us back again and said her she had rupsured her ovaduct!!!! OHH NOO!

I'm curious, how old is your little silkie? and had she laid before now? How or where did you feel for eggs?

Wow, it's great you have a vet available! I hope she recovers from her C-section. Give lots of hugs to your little patient....

she is about 2 years old and has been a great layer up till this point....i could only feel 3 of them vet thought that would be alil odd but to our suprise there was 5 the vet just as shocked as we were....so far she seems to be doing ok shes eating and drinking and walking around a little im sure the meds from the vet is now wearing off so shes not as active (understanding)..so shes laying under her heat lamp resting
