I know its hard to sex this breed but can you take a guess.

This is Cotton Ball

this is cotton ball and Q-tip

Q-tip in front and the two blacks dont have names yet.

this is the black that has a poof

here is the two blacks again one with a poof and the one with out has quills coming in.

only way I've been able to tell if mine are boys or girls is when one starts crowing.

I go back and forth on a few of my young ones I have. I would say you have to wait until they either lay an egg ore crow.

I just bought three black ones (young -age unknown-still cheeping) that we hope are girls. I wasalso told they could be mixed w/ cochin. I do have one with gray mixed in with the black on the neck and head. I was hoping to post my pix for sexing but it sounds like I'll be waiting for eggs or crowing too.

I took pix of mine while they were growing, tried to take them weekly, so I could tell different changes they made over time.

They just turned 23 weeks old yesterday and we have 2 boys, 2 girls that are laying and 1 we aren't sure about...STILL!

I agree with Pipermark, though it's hard to tell at this age. And I am jealous. Out of my 6 silkies, only one is a hen.

I have 3 black silkies. 2 of then have very high doo's the other one has a short do. Mine are 7 weeks old and I as you am clueless as to the sex
