Help! I have a silkie hen who has been fine for awhile but since yesterday has been trying to curl her head in between her legs. I believe it may be wry neck. We have not had any other troubles with wry neck. My silkie lives in a group of four (all bantams) and we feed 18-20% protein pellets and also supplement them with Poultry Cell. We have given her extra Poultry Cell and a bit of vitamin E.

Vitamin E400 IU and some cooked egg yolk in addition to the B Complex for thiamine may be helpful for wry neck. I would treat for 2 weeks or more. Usually B vitamins are not used during Corid treatment. Poultry Cell shouldn’t be used for more than a few days. Make sure they have plenty of ventilation in the coop, and are taking fluids well.

I raise/breed silkies and have had one particular hen would do what yours is doing but also has a twitchy head. I figured was neurological, but regardless I've done what @Eggcessive posted above with the E, egg, and B-complex drops. It works, but it takes weeks. She's now 3 years old and still has head twitches, but doesn't twist her neck around, nor are the twitches as bad as they used to be.
