Yesterday, my 6 1/2 month old silkie was attacked by my Speckled Sussex who is at least 2X bigger than the silkie. The SS was on Pongo’s (the silkie) back and pecking her neck and head. Luckily, it was only for a very short period of time. I brought the silkie inside, warmed her up and tried to dropper feed some electrolytes but she refused to drink them. Later that night, I put her back in the coop because I thought that she would be okay in the morning. WRONG!
When I went out today to let her into the run, she wasn’t walking around. Her head was moving and so was her wings, but she couldn’t walk. Here are my guesses:
Either she was paralyzed from the assault or she has Marek’s Disease. What do y'all think? I would really appreciate any advice!

I'm sorry to hear about your Silkie.

Likely her condition is from the attack, but if you have Marek's in your flock, it's possible that the stress could have caused her to become symptomatic.
Silkies with the way their skulls are made are prone to having difficulties if they have head trauma.

I would bring her in, keep her in a warm quiet place. Check her for any wounds that may need to be addressed (flushed/neosporin) and try to get her hydrated. Offer poultry vitamins that have Vitamin E and B1 - Poultry Cell has those or you can use human vitamins (E capsules and B-complex). Offer her a little wet feed with egg after she is drinking.

Hopefully she will start to recover.

Thank you for your reply. My flock has never had Marek’s so I pray that it isn’t that! I will do exactly as you suggested!

Good morning! Pogo seems a lot weaker this morning. I just got done making her this sling to stay in while recovering. I have Vitamin E liquid but no capsules. Will that work too?
