Heyoo! I have been trying to hatch silkie eggs. I'm on day 15. I have candled them, only two are growing out of 7. :/ I guess this happens. I also have five under a broody buff orpington. The other day, I went out to check on the buff, I lifted her for a second and there were many more eggs under her. The other chickens must be kicking her out to lay their eggs. I came home once and the temperature was 104! The lowest it's been over an hour would probably be 96.5. Too low, I know.
My questions:
Will this affect the silkie eggs? Do you think they will hatch? What is the highest temperature the bator can go? What about the lowest? What do you do when the eggs start to hatch? Please help! What if they get stuck? How can you tell if they are stuck?

If you can answer any of these please help! Thanks in advance!

I can't give you much information about the incubator but from my experience the hen will have the most luck hatching them. As far as the extra eggs go it could be that she is "collecting" them. My silkie is setting her own eggs and the other day I lifted her up and found three eggs from our other hen (we only have to right now). She's a little hoarder.

Haha, that's too cute! I was going to hatch them to sell them, just as a summer project. But after putting this much time and heart into it, I don't know if I will be able to let them go! Thanks for answering!
