Silkie making alot of noise!

My silkie was free ranging yesterday and suddenly stopped and started making this really really loud "cluck cluck cluck PEKARGH!" it just kept repeating it really loudly for about 20 minutes then it stopped. Any ideas what that means? Im not sure if its a hen or a roo, but when I posted a pic most people thought it might be a roo.

just the normal chattering of a chook. could be girl or boy as they both make that sound.
