Everyone has heard from me a lot recently as we got a whole mother batch of chickens and these chickens worry me lol
We got two silkies and well one died :( and one still living but doesn’t seem to have grown at all. They will be two weeks tomorrow and again I have seen no growth. Is eating and drinking also pooping good.
move never owned silkies before and have read they don’t grow fast but my other chickens have doubled in size
It does look like it is growing bigger feathers in. Very choppy but they look like they are growing in.

It may be a bantam silkie, so won't grow as big as your other chickens. If it is eating and drinking well, lively and happy running about like the others, I wouldn't worry too much.

You could supplement its feed with extra protein like mealworms, porridge, scrambled egg, peanut butter and chick vitamins etc if you want to give it a boost.

I forgot to ask, what breed are the other chicks in the picture and are they all the same age? And how big was the silkie egg compared to the others?

I don't think the are regular sized silkies. Silkies take longer to grow and get their feathers.

I thought I was going crazy for a minute so had to go look this up! Yes, as I thought, there are bantam and LF (light) silkies, at least here in the UK http://thesilkieclubofgreatbritain.co.uk/the-british-standard/

You are right though that they take longer to mature and feather up, I should have mentioned that but I was mainly thinking the OP had hatched a bantie without realising.

Update: all the chickens are the same age around 5 weeks.. the silky is still tiny doesn’t look like it’s grown at all.. the other 8 have grown a ton :/ not sure what is happening lol
