What color chicks would I get by crossing a white roo with a black hen?

A white roo with a partridge hen?

Just curious... I love silkies and even better if they're a non-standard color!

I was just told yesterday that Black is dominant so if you do a Black & White together it will be Black but carry the white gene. Partridge, I'm not sure of

That would be the case if it were recessive white masking black.

But with silkies, and this question gets asked thousands of times, there is no way to know what color silkies are masking under their white and no way to know what you will get from crossing with a white silkie until you do it. You can get different results from each white silkie.

Oh no! Not the white question again?

White to white is the name of the game.

The thinking that someone likes surprises is OK if the birds never leave your hands.....others...like ME do not appreciate surprises!!!
It takes a long while to perfect a color and the thought of that darn white lurking somewhere is NOT exciting!
Don't play Frankenstein unless you plan to keep all the "monsters" or at least be open and honest when selling the offspring.

They're for my own flock and yes, if ever I sell any offspring the buyers will be shown the parents and told about the non-purity of the colors/genes.

Still not sure to do it yet, just investigating as I am having a heck of a time finding any silkies at all to add to my flock
