Silkie Question

Do silkies, since they are bantam and broody by nature, lay eggs earlier than standard fowl? About what age do they start laying? Thanks in advance. I'm trying my best to convince DH to let me hatch some. I really want the experience of having a broody hen...especially a silkie! They are so gorgeous!!

It takes silkies FOREVER ( 9-12 months) to start laying. however I have had several go broody before ever laying an egg. they are among my best broodies right now I have 4 broody. one frizzle is broody, and a broody orpington.
