So I have had silkies for a little while now but-all hens. I just got a new rooster yesterday from a local rescue that is a silkie. To my surprise-this guys earlobes are WEIRD. I'm use to the blue lobes on my birds where as this guy has a strange red and white strange looking lobe. He's a great little guy who is super tame. His feathering is all fluff-no hard normal feathering. So I'm just curious as to what could cause it? Cross breeding back in the line-illness?? I also posted photos with his crest. Is this normal? I am thinking new feather growth but unsure? My camera is horrible so if I need further pics just let me know

Crest: yes, new feathers growing.

Earlobes: yes he might have some crossbreeding somewhere in his ancestry. I'm not noticing anything wrong with them, they just look to me like earlobes I'd see in other kinds of chickens.

Thank you! I was a little worried about the lobes. Lol. But after monitoring for a few days, he doesn't seem to have any issues with them.
