I have 3 silkie roosters and 2 hens, and from what I have been told, we need to separate the hens from the roosters. So, last night I put the 2 hens in my screen porch, with their nesting boxes and a huge tarp on the floor with I covered with pine chips. It is a safe spot, has skylights and a ceiling fan, we kept them out there until our coop was built. But that is short term because in the winter there coop will have heat. So, I need to get rid of at least two of my roosters, and can put an add on Craig's list but I am afraid someone will take them to eat or fight, I will screen someone first, but any other suggestions ?????

Yes you should probably rehome them. Silkies are docile birds and I don't imagine they would be used for fighting, I could be wrong, but I don't think they'd be very good at it...Lol
And while there are people who eat them most have them just for eggs and all the cuteness.
I'd think you won't have much to worry about when rehoming them.
Wishing you all the luck!

Thanks and I hope you are right... because I got attached to these darn chickens, I love animals and I knew I would. I have rescued Bearded Dragons, and Hedgehog, and not to mention dogs and cats, and to be honest they were a lot easier to care for then these chickens and less stressful, I am losing sleep trying to find a home for this roosters and before the hens destroy our screen porch.
