I rescued a roo silkie and a hen, 3 barred rocks and a Rhode Island roo, they were not taken care of and I don't think their feet have ever touched grass. The rooster silkie has no voice and is gurgling when he tries to talk. The others have been fine. Now my 1 1/2 and my 6 month old roos are sneezing and gurgling...does anyone have any clue? I finally found an internet site to order Flubenvet for gapeworms and I also ordered some tynal for cold issues. Any help would be appriciated. I love all my chickens and I don't know what is wrong :(

Your birds are sick. You should have them tested to see exactly what you are dealing with. There are several avian respiratory illnesses that it could be. Some are worse than others, but most are highly contagious and even if treated can render the affected bird a carrier for life. You can contact either your state lab or your county extension agent to find out how and where to get your birds tested. The testing will give you a clearer picture of what is going on with your birds, and then you can make a fully educated decision as to how to proceed with their care and treatment.

I am sorry. Good luck.

Finally found a vet that knows about chickens. I couldn't get any help from anyone, not even my son's 4h leader. The vet just gave antibiotics to put in the water and if any of them stop eating they will have to give me a stronger dose to give individually. She said as long as they are eating and drinking they will be fine:)
