Silkie rooster missing neck feathers and has red irritated skin...?! Please help!

I have a rooster who is a year and a half old who has recently started losing his neck feathers.. what's especially concerning to me is that the skin that is exposed is a dark red color..

They have daily access to fresh food and water and sleep inside a coop at night... I have checked his for mites and any other kind of bug but he and the coop are both clean

***this is a strange addition to the post but one of my neighbors did mention this possibility***
I have noticed a large amount of mouse droppings in their coop and my neighbor said that she's heard of mice chewing off feathers while the chickens are sleeping?! Could this be a possibility? It just sounds so strange to me........

Any opinions would be much appreciated!

I'm interested in the answer too. I also have a hen with missing feathers around the neck. I noticed today that her bum is red too. I thought she was molting but I think it's been going on too long and she is the only one. My other two hens are fine. She is acting normal, very active with a healthy appetite.
