silkie rooster nesting?????

O have a silkie rooster who has alot of attitude but has started to crow until he gets let inside and then he goes to there night boxes and "burys" himself in the straw and makes these growling noises. I havent checked the nox for eggs but do roosters normally look after the eggs? Is this normal? I only have 1 rooster and 1 hen

Sometimes a really good rooster will hop in the nest boxes and encourage his girls to get in and lay an egg. You are sure it's a rooster?

Oh yes he is definitely a rooster i no longer need an alarm clock! Lol i think you are right though, he has been getting his business on with the hen but she has not laid any eggs yet. They are both 5 month old silkies
