We don't have our baby chicks yet, however, I know of someone wanting to re home some silkie roosters that have been
handled by children and are pretty friendly as far as roosters go. My question is, they would be our first birds (we have ducklings in the house) is that okay? They would have the coop to themselves until the babies were bigger and I block off part of hte coop for them.

These guys are so cute, I"d love to take them, but not sure how they would do on their own.

Your silkie roos should be able to get along with your other chickens. Just a word of warning....I adopted 2 silkie roos from Craigslist and they had scaly leg mites and I was foolish enough to introduce them into my flock without quarantining them first

Thank you. Being new to the world of chickens I forgot about mites. These roos will be older than my chicks will be when I move them too a coop.
What should I feed the roos, if they are alone?
