We acquired three silkies and it turns out two are cross with something and have smooth feathers. I am only planning on keeping one and can’t have a roo. I mnownsilkies are notoriously difficult but I was wondering thoughts? I have my own suspicions from researching them, but I’m not an expert! Thanks!

I’m leaning towards them all being roos though. My favorite is the smooth I’m holding in my hand. Her/ his name is Puddin’ and sings songs like I’ve never heard before. She/ he sounds like a robin chattering away. But that comb is turning purple at 5.5 weeks 😭
The only pure bred silkie we got (Fern) stands so tall and has a very straight and pointy crest. And the largest of the three (Phoenix) Is the really dark faced smooth that is large, starts fights and has a deep raspy sounding chirp. 😓 We may be starting from scratch with a new group of three, but that little Puddin’ is gonna have me devastated if she’s a he!
