We thought we could figure out this little ladies color on our own, but clearly she is a little off. She seems almost a blue, or a grey, or maybe a poorly marked splash (I've seen examples and that's where that assumption came from). For a while the boyfriend and I thought she maybe a lavender, but she has reddish fret marks/shading on her wings, and we did think for a while she may be a porcelain - but that seems far off. Either way, not idea what she's got going on. Especially with these pictures, she seems to have some sort of barring, or marking on her breast - you can faintly see it in her head-shot and the one where she is being held up to the camera.

So, here are the pictures. What do y'all think?

She's a sweetheart. When people come to visit she usually runs full speed across the yard to the fence to inspect. The funny thing is that more than a few times she has been mistaken for a rabbit.

Maybe these pictures will help with figuring out what she is carrying genetically. That's her doing her low to the ground rabbit looking run and the second is her just a few days old. She looked to be a sort of buff and blue mix, but after seeing other crosses like such, she doesn't resemble them much. She was the only one of her variety at the PGG that we picked her up at, with her partner in crime - Sasquatch. He's a white Silkie cockerel, we want to breed them. Not sure if he is recessive white, dom white, double dom.. He seems to be entirely white, not colors bleeding, no yellowing (aside from the fact that he was dusting in a sort of muddy place behind the coop the other day). We just have a lot of friends who are very interested in adding Silkies to their flocks.

That's Sasquatch.

I have no idea what you would call it... I have a chick that I'm suspecting is going to color out similar to her but my little one will have dark blue on the head and wings instead of how yours is just the head/neck region.

What was her parentage? Or you don't know exactly what could be her parents

? That could help genetic wise what shes got going on.

I've been calling mine lately silver partridge (no idea if there is such a thing) as (mines only 4 or so weeks old) she looks like such a light spectrum blue to look silver with the definitive blue markings on her face and wings.

Anyway she is beautiful and I adore the coloring and can't wait to see how my chick colors out with age!

The partridge thing could be possible, but as a baby she had no chipmunking ever - and being hatchery stock I have no clue what her parents could has been. The red just seems to sporadic and uneven that it's more likely autosmal red, but I have never seen this color so I haven't the faintest idea.

Also, ScaredofShadows, if your silkie is a light blue it could be possible it is a splash rather than a blue.
