Silkie with peeling skin? Rash or mites?

Hi everyone - I’m back again with a question about our 4 month old silkie. The poor thing can’t catch a break. We’ve been treating her with vitamin e and b complex for about a month for what appeared to be wry neck and balance issues. She is very slowly showing improvement on that end, but now we’ve noticed that her skin is peeling all over and she’s scratching her head and neck. I’ve attached some photos of her face and back area under the feathers showing the peeling skin.

We can’t physically see any mites on her, but should we treat for them anyway? (If so, any recommendations?) Or could it be something else?

Thank you!

Take a sample before you wash the bird as it might be some kind of fungus.

Did you treat the bird lately for lice or mites? If so, what exactly did you use?

One of my silkies, Blue, who is around 1.5 years old now also had this around 4 months old. I never did figure out what it was. I ended up giving her a bath with some baby shampoo and used a qtip to carefully remove as much of the softened dead skin as possible. Some of it came back after the bath, but not as bad as the first time around.
Then I sprayed the areas with Vetericyn Antimicrobial Poultry Care for a few weeks and it never came back. To be honest I’m not sure what specifically helped, but sharing what worked for Blue!
