I have a teen silkie. She's about 2 months. I want to move her out of the house into the run. But I'm worried about temperatures. I'm in Utah, it's really hot during the day and gets pretty chilly at night. With her being so fluffy, I just worry how she will handle the elements. What does everyone else think? Tonight it's supposed to be about 65.

I live in the south west and the temperatures spike up to 109 on a daily basis, and all of mine live outside. I have misters set up and leave frozen jugs of water on the ground for them to lay by. But mine are used to the heat, has she ever been outside before? It may take her a while to adjust.

I've started with letting them hang out outside for a few hrs each day. Our highs right now are about 85, will get up in the hundreds in about a month. At night it's about 65 now. It won't get lower till fall. I keep my house between 70 and 75, so that what she's used to.

I have had mine outside since April when I got them as adults. They did just fine. They had a light in their coop when it was really cold. They still came out during the day away from the light, so I assume they didn't need it. I just worry about the rain. They really aren't smart enough to get out of it. We have had to bring them in and warm them up a few times.
