Silkied Serama!!!! Want critiques!!!

So, would the dark skin on his legs be a negative? I know a lot of breeders want yellow legs. Other than that, OMG!!!

How do you find a bird like that?????!

I knew he looked familiar! Yeah, I can't critique him; I can't even critique my own birds. Some days they look better than others, and I'm sure I don't know what I'm looking at! I'm just gonna bring 'em to shows and let Mr. Mongold and others tell me what I have. The others are right about the comb, though. It is bigger than the standard, but he carries very well, and I like it anyway.

It will be a fault in the future, but body type is much more important right now. A black bird is more acceptable with smutty legs than another color. His comb size isn't that important either, but really, it's the worst that can be said about him.

So, how soon will they be putting a color standard on seramas? Do they know yet? Kind of makes me sad... I like the color varieties

You are way ahead with that black beauty! What size is he?

Catwalk is right!!! Your bird has all the important features that everyone is craving for, the rest can be fix through selective breeding. If you clean him up a little, you might have a winner at the show. The only person you have to worry about is the original owner cuz most breeder do not sell you their best, just my opinion. Congrats to you on your beautiful roos.

The SCNA has "accepted" color varieties already, like white, black, BBR, black-tailed buff, and wheaten. Most birds do show as "all other varieties", though. When the ABA recognizes them, white will be the only color that isn't AOV. Which means... somebody sell me a white!

They arte planning on an exeptance this year at the ABA National if everything goes right. First they are working on white to be exepted then a few other colors( black, wheaton, BBR, mottled, ect.) He is a low B!The only bad thing is that glare you see is acually silver in the hackles. Im splitting this into two varieties if I can The Silkie(breed) Gray and Blue/Black(solid). Geronimos girl(Alope) is the same pattern as a gray silkie. and he is just missing the saddle and wing strip of gray! but hes out of solid color blue so I should get a good percentage of each color!
