Hey y'all. I knooowv silkies are tough to sex but anyone have any guesses? 9 week old Sylvia is in the hot seat! Thanks!

Are you allowed to own roosters where you live? I see quite a bit of comb development, especially for a 9 week old, but silkies are super hard. You’ll definitely have to wait to be sure. I have 2 currently and have no clue and I think they’re 12 weeks or something. Good luck
Thank you! Thankfully, I can have roosters! I just already have an EE barn mix so I'm hoping they will get along. Silkie is very submissive so I'm hoping so!
 
While wide combs can often indicate gender in silkies, I have a pullet that proves that theory to not always be accurate.
Your bird is a very nice looking silkie. You should know when she/he is around 16 weeks of age, maybe even later. Good to hear you can keep Sylvia (Sylvester?) either way. 😊
