Silkies, are they heat or cold tolerant?

I am getting chicks in the summer and may get a silkie (I'm sure if I don't get one this year I will get one in the future). I have looked up wether they are heat or cold tolerant, because my friend lost silkies to cold weather, but many books and websites say they are some of the most cold hardy birds out there. I've also heard that silkies do bad in hot weather... but I've found many article threads that disagree. I'm confused, and do not know what to look for or expect in the winter or summer with a silkie... does anyone know which kind of hardy they are? are they both? neither? what do I look for if they are to cold or hot?
thanks!

I personally have not had luck with Silkies. They have not been proven to be hardy for me in Upstate NY. We have frigid winters and some scorching heat in the summer. Both of my silkies died in the summer months. There was plenty of shade and water.
Good luck with your decision.....
Best wishes and Be well! ❤
