Silkies feed crumbles or pellets

Hi All,

I feed crumble and have feed crumbles for a few years now. I have noticed in the last few buys that the crumbles have a lot more dust in it than in past. I find the silkies are wasting more. Can silkies eat pelleted food both layers and chicks?

What do you feed:
chicks pellet or crumbles?
Layers & Roos: crumbles or pellets?

my silkies eat pellets but you have to watch out cause sometimes the pellets can be rather large...
