Silkies, what pairs well?

I need to order some chicks, and it’s a little overwhelming. I really want to get some silkies, but I need to get some standard hens, too. I’d like some color in my eggs. Do salmon favorelles do well with silkies? I had brahmas before, and I loved them. I am just unsure if it’s a good idea to mix standard hens with them. They will be chicks, so they’ll start out young together instead of mixing when they are older. If you guys have a mix with silkies, let me know what you have! Thanks!

I raise silkies, and a couple of years ago I too thought about raising another breed. I posted asking what folks thought would go best. Speckled Sussex was right up there at the top.

I did buy chicks, but when they got 3 months old, I sold them as my heart was with just raising silkies. I loved my short time with them though.
