In the Brooder
We have a decent size run connected to the coop by an enclosed bridge that is about 18 inches long 18 wide. We have 2 white silkies that at night simply plop down on the bridge against the coop rather than go inside.
I usually go out there after dark and shoo them down the ramp inside the coop or pick them up and open the front door and settle them into a "stall" .
Once inside they settle in and go to sleep in the wood shavings. I often put them up on the roost bar, sometime they stay others they jump down.
They share the coop with 10 4 week old chicks, 5 different pairs varieties-Leghorn, blue Andalusian, Rhode Island Reds,
Silver Spangled Hamburgs,Light Brahmas & 2 buff silkies share the run but have their own small coop opposite end
and plenty of room for everyone. They all get along fine with each other during the day. Clair and Pearl have yet to go into the coop on their own without being shooed for the two weeks we have had them.
Any cause for concern? Any ideas on how to get them to settle in on their own???
