So I recently got 6 silkies: Two blue, two white, one buff and one black. I am planning on getting black cochins, buff orpingtons, golden comets, columbian wyandottes, and barred rocks. My friend when I told her I only got one black and one buff freaked out and said the other chickens would kill them. Are they going to be okay? I figured that sense I have six silkies they would look normal to the others, and that I'm getting buff orpingtons and black cochins they would have similar coloring so they'd be okay. Am I wrong?

I wouldn't mix silkies with other standard breeds, they will get picked and possibly killed. Some silkies can't handle head pecks, especially if they have a domed skull. Silkies attract crest pecking and pecking in general due to their odd behaviors, and compromised vision.

Silkies should be kept with other silkies or other gentle bantam breeds to avoid troubles. Mixing colors of silkies shouldn't matter. I definitely wouldn't mix silkies with the breeds you are getting.
