My local feed store just got Silkie chicks in!!! I want some so bad, but they said I have to get 6. I only want 3 because I already have 6 in the coop now and don’t want them to be to crowded adding 6 more. Is there any way to get around the minimum? Probably not but I want them so bad!!

They said it’s a state minimum which I find hard to believe because I got some in the same state (VA) and 4 was the minimum. So I’m not sure. I even asked if I could pay for 6 and only get 3 and she said no.

It’s a small family ran feed store so maybe that’s why? I asked a friend of mine if she wants 3 but if she says no I have no one else to ask. I hope she says yes because I want them so bad, but not enough to make them unhappy by not having enough space.

Well she doesn’t want them because she said silkies lay small eggs and she needs the bigger ones since she sells eggs. So I guess my dream of getting silkies won’t happen.

Silkies are popular, and when my local feed store didnt get silikes in I went straight to craigslist to look for some. Somoene will take them im sure.

I wonder if there is anyone on here around me that would want 3? I want to know they are going to good homes. I guess if I can’t find anyone on here I’ll put them on Craigslist.

There's a six chick minimum down here. It's to prevent people from getting just a couple for their kids or something and not taking care of them. If you get six, then you're serious about chickens, in their eyes. Yep, just put them on craigslist. Silkies are the best.
