So I’m patiently waiting for my new batch of chicks!! I’ve got 21 chickens with one of them is broody and sitting on hopefully fertilized eggs! I had a previous gen go broody but I messed with her and her eggs so much well they didn’t go through so this one I ain’t touching. They should be hatching Monday as well as my order for 15 silkie special! So excited any tips for new chick raiser. I’ve raised 21 but from 2 weeks old and up. So first time the hatchery says they’ll hatch Tuesday

Switch from heat lamp to heat plate after 2 weeks if you want them to feather out quicker

I will definitely have to try that. So after two weeks I can remove the lamp completely?

When they are fully feathered, generally around 5 weeks, you can remove the heat.
