hey, im getting 2 silkie hens in a few weeks if i hatch some duck eggs under them do i have 2 separate 1 hen from the other hen if the duck's hatch ?

I wouldn't think so, but I could be wrong. The mothering hen should protect them as her own. Silkies love to be mommies.

Depends.

In March, I had two hens raise a clutch of 10 chicks together. They would fight sometimes, but only feathers were plucked and it usually didn't last long. And in July I had 3 hens raise a clutch of 9 chicks. A little fighting at first, but once each hen knew their place, things settled down. I would try to let both hens hatch and see how they do. If things get too vicious, then separate them.

Yup they like the company I think

See here are 2 silkies and a showgirl raising 6 marans chicks.

Just have to keep an eye on them but I would think they will be fine. Good luck!
