My little Lady Snow Bird (silky) is eating her own eggs...why?

Welcome to BYC! However you have posted this in the quail section and you might get a lot more responses if you put this in the Chicken Behavior and Egg Laying.

However, usually what happens is, an egg gets broken in the nest box. This is like a pinata opening up and candy spilling out all over the place for kids! Chickens love the taste of eggs. And once they get the taste of eggs, it is hard to get them to stop eating them.

So the best thing you can do is remove eggs from the boxes as quick as you can before the chickens have a chance to break them open and eat them. If you put fake eggs in the boxes now, sometimes this can discourage them from damaging the good eggs, as they will peck and pick at the fake eggs to no avail.
