So my cute large size Maran, she is cute cuz she acts like she is small, and she is at the bottom of the pecking order. Well she has discovered the best way to lay her egg in the nesting box reserved for the top of the pecking order . She sits in the nest next door. Waits, until just about time to lay her egg. And just as it's about to be laid, she moves into the most desired nesting box and regardless of what other chicken is there she will back her dump truck up to the nest and the girl laying there will usually be so shocked (cuz really she is a large bird) she'll stand up and move. It's brilliant!
