So, you all can laugh at me- but please reply anyway LOL

So, I have a great GREAT drake named Bill - he is a pied
and I have four hens that are throwing babies all over the place
some of my first hatch babies are nearly mature now- and of corse their dad is Bill and still the lead drake

I know with most animals you do not want line breeding ( that would be line breeding, right? ) or is that something differant ( I need to go google LOL)
but with other animals it is not a biggy

so...

my question is

do I need a new drake now? Or split my flock ?

any input would really be appreciated

I don't think it's a problem for at least several generations. Once you get into a fifth or sixth generation, it's probably time to bring in some fresh blood. But those first several generations are fine.

Good luck!
