silly question maybe...

it's bothering me. I've got one hen recovering from a near-scalping. every time i look in the brooder to check on her, she fluffs up, puts her head down and butt up, and reminds me of something that i can't quite put my finger on... a cartoon-ish character, maybe dr seuss, that hangs out at the back of my memory. LOL can someone help me here?

Definitely a silly question. But I agree it may be a Dr. Seuss thing. Maybe a "Hop on Pop" critter.

well the camera didn't do her justice... LOL i'll see if i can get a better pic today. it's just with the semi-scalped look and some crusty feathers on the edges, she looks like she's bald with antennas. LOL

it was either dr seuss or looney toons.

yes, she's in one of my brooders by herself until she heals. she'd jumped and dinged the back of her head, and the others just kept picking on it until i took her out. she's definitely not happy by herself tho, but i'm afraid to put anyone else in with her in case they pick on her again. she's my biggest hen or else she would have joined all the rest int he freezer last week.
