What are the different breeds/varieties that carry a silver factor gene AND lay a brown egg without doing any special breeding?
I know SLW do and some white rocks, but apparently most of the white rocks don't carry the silver factor gene. Any ideas on other breeds/varieties that would? Sandi

Delawares, Rhode Island Whites, Columbian Rocks, Light Brahmas, Light Sussex, Silver Penciled breeds should all carry the silver genes

White Leghorns usually do not carry it and in breeds like White Rocks and White Wyandottes, you usually can't tell what color they are masking under the white, so those wouldn't be good to use either, I'm assuming you are planning to breed Sexlinks right?

Yes, and thank you. I thought I might want White Rocks and I still might, but I think I will go with the RC-RIW variety. You did give me some others to think about though.
