Silver lace wyandotte roo

Are you saying the Goldne Comets are I/i+, or their chicks are I/i+?

Your modeling in the calculator works if the Golden Comet hen is pure I/I
But because Golden Comets are a hybrid, and the father is usually a Rhode Island Red (i+/i+), then I am modeling the Golden Comet as I/i+

If the Golden Comet hen is I/i+
And the Silver Laced Wyandotte rooster i+/i+

Then some chicks should be I/i+ and some chicks should be i+/i+
So some chicks will show black (i+/i+) and some chicks will show little to no black (I/i+)

So my point has nothing to do with Birchen, just with whether the chick can show black or not.

About half the chicks should look "silver laced" or "silver-something," while the other half should look all white. (Yes, allowing for red leakage in all of them, as you previously mentioned.)
I was referring to the offspring.

OK, then I think we are both really saying the same thing-- some chicks will grow feathers that have visible black markings, and some will not.

Sorry for making a big fuss by not recognizing that sooner
It's okay. We all do that at some point.

Very interesting colors can pop up sometimes, when you don't know all of the genes involved...obvious dominant & not so obvious recessive...who's the daddy's dad, mama's mom, etc. When you do not have that info, it can be a challenge at times, trying to predict feather colors of chicks.

For example, I have 4 Wyandottes, no clue who their parents were, only was told they are pure Wyandotte.
1 Silver Laced Roo
3 hens, a Blue & 2 Ivory White,
but when you see the 4 youngsters, 2 Roos & 2 hens, there is quite a bit of red feathering, especially on 3 of them.
One of the original Ivory hens does have 2 feathers with a bit of red,
that's it, just a hint of visible red,
yet look at all this red that popped up!
I didn't raise the chicks hoping for particular colors, though, so it's all good, they're so beautiful!
