I'm not questioning the egg color change, but how would a SLW have barring? Even as hatchery stock.

Is it possible that she only started laying this year ? Were they all laying last year ?

Just because my girls were right in front of me with their barred selves and laced selves, I snapped a picture. Thank you for this learning opportunity. I sincerely appreciate that!

All layed varying shades of light brown/cream last year. Got them at a local TSC community swap. ...but she did start laying late and it wasnt as frequent as it is now.

That's the same bird from the first pic?! From the top she looks completely different! She could be a Wyandotte/ee. From the top she looks all ee, which means she hasn't been laying before this.
