Over the summer I plan to get a SLW cockerel. I currently have a flock of 4 RIR/Sussex hens. I intend to put the cock in with the hens and then in spring I would buy a Silkie. I can put some of the fertile eggs eggs from my RIR/Sussexes under the Silkie and hopefully the Silkie will get broody and hatch them out.
I am looking for docile, good dual purpose birds with good looks.
I have had my RIR/Sussex flock for nearly 2 years so I think I am ready to breed. Any advice on breeding or pictures of SLW x RIR/Sussex would be great.
