Is this a male silver laced Wyandotte? Or is it another breed? It’s not looking like my other Wyandottes . We got them as pullets from TSC which ok i know isn’t the best with sexing. But just noticed it was growing feathers in later and darker. It’s like a black chipmunk with white stripes down the back. . And no white in the feathers at all. Last two pictures of my other Wyandotte.

Well I’m not so much concerned with sex or anything. I’m not trying for that. Just curious since it looks different, that’s it

There are color variations in any breed, but especially in chicks from the hatcheries, since they are not so picky about getting perfectly colored birds.

Your chick has a rose comb like Wyandottes, and it has that pattern of silvery on black markings on its face and head, just like any SLW. This bird might also get more normal SLW coloring when it molts away its juvenile feathering.

Looks happy and healthy to me, which are the most important things.

I agree. I also wouldn't be surprised if the lacing improves with age. I have a Buff Laced Brahma who was barely laced during the first set of feathers but who now is laced pretty nicely! I can't tell you if that's a normal occurrence or not, but I would give it time, he or she may surprise you! Here's a before and after of my girl.
