Hi! I have a 20 week old Silver Penciled Plymouth rock and I want to put her in my other coop with my 11 month old Russian Orloff and Barnevelder. My question is, is it too early to move her since she's not laying right now due to the freezing weather? And since my other two are on layer food. She has been in her own coop that is just 4 feet away from the other two for about two and a half months now. Also, does anyone know when this particular breed starts to lay?

Thanks

if she is near the same size of the other birds, then you can introduce her to the others in the morning and watch what happens throughout the day.

She should start to lay around 7 months, at least mine start to lay at that time.

It's been my experience that the rock lay a bit earlier than most. I don't have the penciled rocks...yet, lol, but the white rocks I have started in 5 months.
