Silver Penciled Rock x Rhode Island Reds

Hi! Really new to chickens but we just added to RIRs to our SPR flock. I was curious if anyone had hatched out this cross, what they look like and their general impressions concerning egg production, health and temperament.

DO TELL: Where did you get your silver pencileds from?

I bought them as a flock from a family in Clark County, Ohio that shows them but I know they got them from a breeder in Pennsylvania whose name escapes me right now. These are our first chickens so I don't have much to compare them to but I really like them. Our rooster eats out of my hand and they are all docile and easily handled. Their egg production hasn't been especially impressive (hence the addition of the RIRs) but two aren't laying yet.

How long have you had yours? What drew you to this breed?

AH, yes, Dick has nice ones. I've had them for 4-5 years now. They are a beautiful, heritage breed.
