I just received a pair of silver pheasants. Anyone raise these?? Do they roost at night or do they sleep on the ground. Do they nest in boxes or on ground. What kind of treats do they like? ANy info would be helpful.

They will roost, although I have one that sleeps on the ground every night. They are ground nesters,I haven't seen much Silvers wont eat,so about any fruit or veggie for treats(mine love Sunflower seeds). They are usually second year breeders, although I have had fertile eggs out of first year birds with a early hatch male. The male will color out his second year. They will become verry tame if you spend the time with them.I have an extra male that I have running around outside the pens and he will follow me looking for a handout while I do chores.

Pretty much ditto what he said. I think they'll eat you if you hold still long enough. Fun birds often filled with personality. Probably one of the hardest birds to keep in a planted pen, for the plants anyway.

They are two year olds so they are in full color. The female looks a little rough could be from the shipping. Male has no tail though, is that a normal shipping procedure or could it be from molt . He us gorgeous otherwise
