Hello from the Carson Valley! Just joined today and wanted to introduce myself.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Answer: I raised just two Rhode Island Reds when I was a kid up in Lake Tahoe. Coop was super simple, but they were great pets and I carried my love for chickens with me. I was in the Navy for 25 years so quit raising while active duty. Now just started again post-retirement
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
answer: we have 11 hens and one rooster
(3) What breeds do you have?
Answer: Ameraucana, Olive Eggers, Easter Eggers, Barred Rocks, Lavender Orpingtons, Black Copper Marans, Golden Laced Wyandotte
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Answer: Chicken therapy. They are so fun to watch and interact with. Little characters...!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Answer: Guitar, Aquaponics and shooting
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Answer: Defense sales. No other pets at this time
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
answer: found it coming up regularly on internet searches for chicken questions
