this lil dude cant stay with us city folk unfortunately! Lemme know if u are interested he is not aggressive and is at the bottom of the pecking order rt now due to being one of teo bantams in the flock. He is 5-6 weeks old, and I am in Sacramento.

Rehomed! Goodbye Salt, you will forever be in enshrined in the annals of backyardchickens.com.
Hi! How were you able to find him a home? I'm in Sac, too (but in the county, so roos are allowed). I plan on keeping my 2 roos, but if there is a behavior/integration problem down the road, it'd be good to gave more options.

TIA!

The feed store I got him at took him back, and one of the employees took him home. I tried Craigslist as well but go no hits, but I may have overpriced him and CL can be fickle.

Shoutout to the Sacramento Feed and co. up in Elverta on the way north side of town. They assured me he wasn't going in the pot (no judgement this dude was a tiny bantam and a looker not a table bird) and that one of the people there would love to keep him. So we brought him back and they hooked me up with two new chicks in return (SL Wyandotte and B leghorn). So far I have really liked there treatment of the chicks (I believe the owners, employees, etc. are chicken folk) and they had quite the variety early on in the season . And so far no roos in their pullet runs. I will admit I got a RIR instead of an EE one time, but they were in the same bin and I pointed to the chick I wanted so that's on me as far I'm concerned. And brown leg horns right now!!! So pretty and perfect for the heat.

Lol! That's where I got my Sebright roo, too! Love that place. Bradshaw Feed has an incredible selection. I went with a friend - Orps, Rocks, sex Links, Welsummer, Sussex, Ameraucanas, and more all sexed. They had bantams, too, but SR only, of course. But it's far from me. Elverta is just down the road.

Love the little guy! I hope he's a good roo. Time will tell once those hormones kick in. He and I had a long heart-to-heart about being a good little rooster. Haha!

Do you have experience with Sebrights and their attitides? I see your avatar, but don't want to make assumptions. He's my one and only Sebright. I've read mixed things about temperament.

Ya the roo on my avatar is the one I just gave away, minutes before. It was none to soon, as soon as i removed him from his flock he put up a crow attempt or two! He was close to the bottom of my flock pecking order too, although as he got bigger he jumped up above my silkie roo after a few tussles. All in all he avoided me and the humans so I think he’d be all right. Atleast with the size too you know he cant rough up the hens too mich when the hormones kick in.
