My silvers are more friendly than chickens and so docile. This is common for their species? the goldens were always so scared and flighty. The reason for these birds being flighty is that why they need such huge enclosures? or is it for breeding?

I have a extra super tame male who cant be with the other birds. What size of pen would be good for him? he is always calm and never panics.

Silver pheasants are either friendly or aggressive, nothing neutral. He will change when breeding season comes around so be careful with him.I had a reeves that would eat out of my hand and then breeding season came and he wanted to tare me apart.
For a single bird at least a 4'x8' pen is suitable.

@Tony K T is absolutely right, Silvers are one way or the other, no inbetween.

My Goldens have always been super tame, not flighty at all. This is the first year I raised flighty Amherst's....their always tame, too! Don't know why they turned out flighty.

My Reeves is another story altogether, along time ago had a Revees that was tame, ever since, nothing but insanely wild, aggressive birds, no matter how much time I have spent with them. The upside is their great breeders.

My silver males can't make up their minds whether or not they like me or not. If they know food is coming they run around my feet hissing and chasing each other but if any other bird in the pen is being handled and starts struggling they'll attack.
