Singing but no squating

My GLW is 22 weeks and 3 days old and hasn't laid her first egg yet. This morning she started singing the egg song...loud and clear!!! But she's never done the squat. This morning while she was "singing" I went over and picked her up. Now that NEVER happens with her. No squating, but no running away either. Can she lay without squating?

I think some BYCers have posted that that have hens that never squatted. My (limited) experience with my three layers is that each of them began squatting about one week prior to their first egg.

Thanks. I was searching for posts about this, but hadn't seen any. Probably comments within certain threads. At least it's good to know it's actually happened. I only have 3. One is laying and did squat, the other two haven't laid yet.
