Single combed silkie?

Sorry, I don't have a current pic of this bird, but I was wondering how big the comb gets if it is a roo? I have recently figured out that the 6 silkie 'chicks' I got at the auction this summer are probably about 7 months old, and I haven't heard any crowing!?!?!? I was thinking the single comb was a roo, but shouldn't it be crowing by now if it were? I'll try to get some current pics tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone can give me an idea? Thanks

The comb will normally twist or curl making it seem smaller than it actually is. It is rare for the comb to stand up straight like other breeds. Some crow early and some do not crow until very late. If you can get a picture we should be able to tell the sex at that age.

My seven month old silkie just started crowing last week. I love their first crows. I wonder if the young rooster crows his first crow and then wonders, "Why did I just do that?". ROFL!

Here's my single-combed silkie rooster, Lippy. His comb stands straight up. He's such a sweetheart.
