So you can read my previous threads about how I've come to own a single duck. I'm toying with the idea of bringing her inside - and yes, I know ducks are social and do better with other ducks but that's just not an option. Am I better off keeping her outside, or diapering her and bringing her inside? I'm just so lost right now I don't know what to do.

I think that is all up to you if you want to have your duck inside. If she is going to be alone outside she would most likely be better off inside with you. Especially if you can't get another duck for her. Is she use to your companionship ? there are several on here that have house ducks. Duck diapers are popular so that is def an option. Will you be able to spend a lot of time with her and will she still be able to go outside some for fresh air and sunshine?

@Raenh has house ducks.

I have a single duck, and she lives exclusively indoors. (HATES it outside other than riding in the truck) If you can't get her a friend, than you're gonna have to be her friend. She'll need lots of time and companionship from you. Things to consider. I vacuum at least twice a day. There are feathers and duck dandruff everywhere constantly. Ducks need diaper changes more than babies to keep them healthy and clean. And they eat like drunken weedeaters. She will follow you everywhere weather you want her to or not, and when she can't see you, she will call to you like a VERY loud game of marco polo. They are very curious and into everything. Unlike dogs though, not particularly destructive. So nibbling on your shoe or rummaging through your plastic grocery bags is relatively harmless. Child proofing is nothing compared to duck proofing, but the toys are crazy cheap and versatile. The upside to all of this is she will be the most loyal and entertaining pet ever.

Diaper changes?
It would depend on how often you feed her, how much she poops and what you put in the diaper to absorb it. My girl poops more in the morning because I feed her at night only. I use neonate Walmart brand diapers inside her harness (half at a time), and change those about once an hour until about noonish, and when her poop starts slowing, I go to about every 3 hours at the longest. You might get away with less, depending on the outside schedule for her. My Dandy HATES the grass on her feet (she's a work in progress) so we don't stay outside to utilize the grass often.
